Raven learned to read by sitting in the middle of the floor with a book and reading. She was always was happiest in a bookstore or a library. It was always very difficult to choose only one or two books, when she was allowed to get/buy one. The reasons why people read are varied, but it is often to get information, entertainment, or discovery. In order to be a good reader, one only needs curiosity, a book that interests them, and a comfy place to sit. The easiest part of reading for Raven is the large number of books that interest her. The hardest part of reading for her is choosing what book to read first. She chooses which book to read first, usually, by if she actually wants to read that book or a different book. Otherwise, she just grabs the first book on one of the numerous stacks of books that are in her room, or in the house. What she looks for in a good book is usually if it actually "hooks" her after the first page or two. Another is if it has a plot that isn't as predictable as some, like the Twilight series. She refuses those books because she thinks that they have little to no plot and she doesn't read the romance genre. She often reads every night before bed, when she gets a chance at school, on car trips, and whenever she gets the chance to read. Raven enjoys reading and she often prefers staying inside and reading to going outside and socializing.
People often learn to write through school and, if they're parents are writers, they might have learned from them. People write for many reasons, such as for a career, or for entertainment. In order to write well, people need to decide what they are actually writing first, then figure out what should go in the writing. Raven doesn't write often, but when she does, she prefers to write fictional stories over other types of writing. She often continues a story that she has been writing for years and/or she'll make up a story off the top of her head and just write. Her ideas often come from experience in the real world, or she'll create a story in her head and writes/types it as she's "reading" the story, that hasn't been written/typed yet, in her head. She prefers some constructive criticism and assistance on how to actually write the story to someone just reading it and not giving any feedback or only giving criticism, not the constructive kind as well. She writes when she has to for school or if she's bored with nothing else to do. Raven enjoys writing, but only if she gets to write about a topic that she chose and she wants to write about it.
